My inspiration to create this art came from the poem below.

Dear Mommy (A letter from her unborn girl child)

You don’t know me, yet
Because I’m brand new
I’m that precious life
Growing inside of you.

Every breath you take
I take with you
So, when you take that drink
I do that, too.

Please keep me safe
And free from harm
So I can be held
In your arms

I wish that you
Could hear my cry
You’re gonna kill us both
I don’t want to die!

God’s plan for me
Is to laugh and play
Right now my future
Looks dark and gray

Born with your addiction
Would not be fair
Or a tragic loss
You’d have to bear

Give us both
The chance to meet
And count the toes
Upon my feet

To know pure love
In a mommy’s glance
In my eyes, too
Give me that chance

Please, Mommy
I have no choice
Those offers of  help
“They” are my voice…..
